The VSA is a screening tool developed to assist teachers and other educators to identify visual inefficiencies that may affect school performance. Six subtests assess pursuit, scanning, alignment, and locating movements; eye-hand coordination; and fixation unity. When visual deficits are noted, the student should be referred for a comprehensive visual examination. The VSA is a self-contained instrument that does not require the use of other equipment.
The manual includes many visual skill training techniques that are keyed to each subtest.
