Children in Turmoil

Children raised in stable, favorable environments usually grow up to be educated, productive, and emotionally healthy members of society. However, not all children are that fortunate; they may experience transitional obstacles (i.e., parental divorce, death of a close family member, foster care, serious emotional or health problems, etc.) that greatly impact their development and feelings of self-worth. While some events have minor and temporary effects that can be easily overcome, others can be traumatizing and detrimental.
